Dr Tabitha B. Fortt is a Board Certified Family Physician in Stamford, Connecticut.  A native of Bridgeport, CT, Dr. Fortt attended Fairfield University and Georgetown University School of Medicine.  After completing her residency training at Columbia University’s Program in Family Practice-Stamford Hospital, she served as the Medical Coordinator for Stamford Community Health Center for five years.  As the senior physician, Dr . Fortt  lead the clinical staff in the initiation of a Homeless Healthcare Clinic, and established diagnostic and treatment  programs for asthma, hepatitis C and tuberculosis.  In addition she served as the School Health Consultant for the City of Stamford for several years.

 

Dr. Fortt currently works  in her private  practice in Stamford which focuses on preventative care, weight loss and adolescent health. Also, Dr. Fortt has recently launched “Let's Talk with Dr. Tabby” which provides a forum for adults, senior's, and teens to discuss medical, social, developmental and psychologically issues that affect them. Dr. Fortt also had her National debut on the hit TV show "The Maury Show" & "The Trish Goddard Show", as the local celebrity physician.

 

Aside from her formal duties, Dr. Fortt frequently gives lectures with the American Heart Association, area churches, and community groups. She also participates in community based health fairs and seminars through her practice and in collaboration as a member of the Fairfield County Chapter, Links Inc. 

 

Dr. Fortt is happily married to Guy Fortt.  They reside in Stamford with their three children.
